The Snowflake Lobos football program continued their annual 9/11 Tribute Game this past Friday with custom Addix uniforms honoring our first responders. Addix donated 50 game jerseys to the Lobos football program as a part of our Great American Giveback. The team surprised their fans by going with the black "Never Forget" jerseys. Each jersey had all the players unique numbers, but instead of having names on the back, all the jerseys said "Never Forget".

With the "Never Forget" jerseys, the Lobos took the field against Page High School in what was a night meant to pay tribute to our first responders and all of those whose lives were changed forever on September 11th, 2001. All Veterans, Active Duty Military, Law Enforcement, and Firefighters were allowed into the game for free as the Snowflake community showcased their patriotic spirit. This was the 5th annual game hosted by Snowflake in what they call their Heroes Game.

"Our 9/11 Tribute Game was started by our players in 2014 and it has taken off to our student body and our community. It is the best game of the season,” Snowflake High School Assistant Football Coach Bryan Lang told us in September

Here is Snowflake’s cause game description from when they won our Great American Giveback: Our football team for the past four years has done a 9/11 night. Our school allows military and first responders into the game for free. Our entire team will run out on the field with American Flags. At half time our student council does a tribute and has a giant rodeo flag that the students pull for this tribute. This was started by our football players and student council, we as coaches just supported the idea. We don’t have the budget to get these jerseys, so winning this would be a big deal to our students and to our football players. Thank you for your consideration

The Lobos online store has been reopened through Sunday, September 16th for all of those interested in getting fan jerseys. $10 of all fan jerseys purchased goes back to the Lobos' cause, which is being distributed to the City of Snowflake for first responder programs. Snowflake ended up winning the game 50-28.
